CAPITALAND

A feature-length screenplay

Annie Donnelly is a suburban thirty-something who lives with and cares for her disabled father Ben; a former New York State Trooper.

But when Ben's suicide leads Annie to uncover a secret bank account he shared with the late Governor, Annie becomes seduced by the notion that she is at the center of local political conspiracy and sets off on a dubious and potentially dangerous quest for answers.

Set in New York's seemingly banal and innocuous capital of Albany, CAPITALAND repurposes the tropes of psychological political thrillers like BLOW OUT, CUTTER'S WAY, and THE PARALLAX VIEW, to examine one woman's struggle to make sense of the modern world, and her trivial place within it.

CAPITALAND was a semi-finalist in the Stowe Story Labs and top 10% in the Academy Nicholl Fellowship.
